ABOUT

MY STORY

My name is Dorota, and I am a London-based makeup artist. Born and raised in Poland, my early life was shaped by two seemingly different worlds: the deep, reflective study of human nature and them creative need for visual aesthetics. Inspired by the photography of maestro Steven Meisel and Peter Lindbergh, who had a remarkable way of capturing the essence of feminine beauty, I found a passion for makeup artistry. While studying philosophy and psychology, I came to the realization that makeup allowed me to explore identity, beauty, and transformation in ways that philosophy alone could not.

“Makeup became the medium through which I could merge intellectual curiosity with artistic
creativity.”

After moving to London, I trained in beauty and fashion makeup at Westminster College in 2006, as well as attending masterclasses with artists such as Alex Box and Mario Dedivanovic, amongst others. Later, I specialised in SFX makeup at Pinewood Studios under Stuart Bray’s guidance. Since training, I have had the privilege of working alongside many top makeup artists, including Marco Antonio and Kenneth Soh, and have collaborated on various projects with photographers like Rankin and Tony Wellington.

My clientele has grown to include major brands like MTV Base, Vodafone, NARS, Rimmel, Channel 4, and P&G’s CoverGirl. I have had my work featured at prestigious events, including the BAFTA Awards and The Graham Norton Show, as well as working on diverse film and video productions, from music videos like Anna Wolf’s Free, to Henk Pretorius’s film Young Gun, and Daniel Jewel Films’ London Arabia. Editorial shoots for publications such as Vogue, The BITE, and Bride Magazine have allowed me to explore timeless beauty looks.

A highlight of my career has been my long-term collaboration with the Goodwood Revival Festival, where period makeup recreates styles from the 1940s to the 1970s. I have also had the honour of representing Procter & Gamble at both the London and Sochi Olympics, and have worked with incredibly talented artists, designers, and models at London Fashion Week on numerous occasions.

With almost 20 years of experience, I still strive to push creative boundaries; my passion for makeup allows me to explore transformation, identity, and beauty in every project I undertake.
